sick day “adventures”

I am totally obsessed with this blog right now so I decided I’d give its blogging style a shot. In retrospect, though, it took me forever and I doubt I will ever do this again. Props to Allie, though. Her pictures/stories are much better.

When I woke up this morning, I felt like total crap.

So, for the first time ever, I decided to use a sick day—at which point I realized that I didn’t have my boss’ phone number, so I opened up my trusty hackintosh netbook…

(yeaaa… *nerdface*)

…and i emailed him. (I guess since we’re an internet-based company email is just as good as a phone call… right?)

I then went promptly back to sleep only to wake up at probably the worst time of day to turn on a television. I started flipping channels for a bit only to find infomercial after infomercial. You know how when you’re a little kid and you stay home sick from school and are all excited because you get to watch TV aaalllll day only to figure out that the only thing on tv is Oprah? That’s how I felt today. Finally, after cycling through the bajillion pointless channels on my cable box a couple of times, I found the History Channel. Now, I had never watched the History Channel before… and after today I never want to watch it again. Today there was a “SWAMP PEOPLE” marathon—when I first saw the name of the show I got all excited thinking it would be something like this…

But instead… it was more like this.

Ugh. I watched like 2 hours of it and then began to go crazy.

*SICK DAY A.D.D.!!* SO BORED! MUST GET OUT OF APARTMENT!!**

But alas… my stomach…

**Note: Yes, I actually showered and got out of my pjs on my sick day. I am that ridiculous. I am also wearing my brand new Levi’s cut off shorts because I just got them and can’t live with the fact that I can’t wear them outside until the end of April… that’s like forever away!!**

Anyway, this was my stomach.

So I decided, hey, let me feed him. And of course, being the lazy non-cooker that I am… I had soup.

So I ate my chicken noodle soup and crackers and then the sick day A.D.D. came back with a vengeance.

I forgot to include that over the course of the whole day, I was also narrating my situation/conversing with Dani over gchat. I showed her my new favorite blog yesterday and we both came up with this magnificent idea that maybe I should use my sick day time to make a brand new blog post.

Anyway, then I watched like 5 episodes of Mad Men season 1 and spent like 5 hours (not uninterrupted, mind you, remember I have sick day A.D.D.) drawing up these little drawings for you… and now I’m attempting to eat yummy Moroccan take-out food but Mr. Stomach doesn’t seem to want to concede defeat yet. Bleh. Ok, I’m throwing in the metaphoric towel right now. kthxbye.
